In 2012 , the University of Turku in Finland and Fudan University signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish closer relationships between the two respective universities. As a result of the MoU and previous successful collaborations , Fudan University and the University of Turku established a double degree program in future health and technology in 2018. The dual master’s degree program is carried out by the School of Nursing and the School of Information Science and Technology at Fudan University and the Department of Nursing Science and Department of Future Technologies at the University of Turku. The project is a two-year full-time study and can either be carried out at Fudan University or the University of Turku. Both universities aim to invite 10 students each annually. Currently 4 students have successfully graduated from this project.
The objective of the “Joint Double Degree program” is to pioneer international multidisciplinary education collaboration in health technology by connecting two important educational fields: health sciences and information technology. By doing this , Fudan University, and the University of Turku hope to improve and innovate virtual technology, health information sensing technology and network technology in order to improve health decision-making efficiency in the field of health and the field of health informatics.
