On March 30th, 2023, Mr. Philippe Roesle, CEO of Swissnex and Head of the Science, Technology and Education Office at the Embassy of Switzerland in China, and his associates were welcomed by Dr. Hongyang Xu, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office, when they visited Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University.
The delegation included Ms. Libing Gu, Head of Academic Relations at the Science, Technology and Education Office at the Embassy of Switzerland in China, and Ms. Liyun Zhang, Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Science, Technology and Education Office at the Embassy of Switzerland in China. Professor Xiang Gao, Head and Professor of the Department of Nutrition and Food Hygiene; Professor Xiao Zhu, Associate Professor in Pharmacometricsfrom the School of Pharmacy; and Professor Zhijia Tang and other professors from the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Administration of the School of Pharmacy attended the reception.
Firstly, Mr. Philippe Roesle introduced Switzerland's emphasis on international academic exchange and scientific and technological cooperation, as well as the goals of theScience, Technology and Education Office at the Embassy of Switzerland, and its efforts to promote cooperation with other countries in the fields of education, scientific research, and new medical technologies.
Following this, Dr. Hongyang Xu gave a brief introduction about current education and training programs, scientific research, and international exchanges at Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University. Subsequently, Professor Gao Xiang reviewed the development of the nutrition and health program at Fudan University and stated that cooperative relationships had already been established with a Swiss company. He expressed his hope that both parties could further deepen their cooperation to enhance research on global nutrition and health.
Professor Zhu and other participants from the School of Pharmacy of Fudan University introduced the latest research progress in the field of Clinical Pharmacy at Fudan University and spoke of cooperation with Swiss enterprises, stating that theywere looking forward to carrying out scientific research, training and other multi-dimensional cooperation ventures with Switzerland.
After a warm and in-depth discussion on the future direction of cooperation between the two parties, Dr. Hongyang Xu proposed a collaborationagenda with well-known universities and research institutions in Switzerland via faculty and student exchange programs to improve medical education and training, scientific research, and other fields. Mr. Philippe Roesle expressed his expectation of co-constructing courses with Shanghai Medical College of Fudan Universityto further deepen understanding of Switzerland's new medical technologies and promised to make efforts to promote cooperation between Switzerland and China.
