Fudan University Shanghai Medical College and the University of Chicago Medical Center Sign Memorandum of Understanding
On the morning of April 9, 2025, the signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Fudan University Shanghai Medical College (SHMC) and the University of Chicago Medical Center was held at the Information Building of Shanghai Medical College.
Wu Fan, Vice Dean of Shanghai Medical College, and Michael Millis, Director of the University of Chicago Beijing Center, delivered remarks at the ceremony, expressing their expectations for future collaboration.
Wu Fan extended a warm welcome to the delegation of the University of Chicago Medical Center. She noted that the signing of this MoU carries profound significance, marking the beginning of a new chapter in medical cooperation and exchange between the two institutions. She emphasized that the partnership will contribute to the joint cultivation of medical talent and promote progress in global health.
Michael Millis remarked that both institutions have achieved remarkable accomplishments in the medical field and enjoy high international visibility. He stated that the signing of the MoU will provide a solid foundation for further collaboration and expressed his hope that the two sides will strengthen cooperation and jointly contribute to global health development.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed plans for future initiatives, including expanded collaboration in teaching and scientific research, as well as the signing of a student exchange agreement.
The ceremony was chaired by Xu Hongyang, Deputy Director of the Office of International Medical Cooperation. Representatives from the Office of Academic Affairs, the Graduate School of Medicine, Zhongshan Clinical Medical College, and Huashan Clinical Medical College also attended the event.
