On the afternoon of December 10, 2024, the Special Conference on Global Open Cooperation of Fudan University Shanghai Medical College was successfully held in Meeting Room 1829 of the Information Building at Fudan University’s Fenglin Campus. More than forty participants attended the event, including Wu Fan, Vice Dean of Shanghai Medical College, as well as international-exchange leaders from relevant university functional departments, medical-related secondary schools, research institutes (centers, departments), and affiliated hospitals.

The conference aimed to deepen the strategic planning and practical exploration of Shanghai Medical College in the field of global open cooperation, to clarify the college’s goals and implementation pathways in international collaboration, and to enhance the strategic positioning and foreign-affairs competence of secondary units and affiliated hospitals.

Lu Lihua, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Fudan University, presented the goals and key tasks of Fudan University’s 2035 Global Open Cooperation Action from a macro-strategic perspective.

Vice Dean Wu Fan outlined the fundamental approach for implementing the Global Open Cooperation Action within Shanghai Medical College. She elaborated on measures related to establishing a high-level international medical cooperation system, developing pathways for international talent cultivation, strengthening the “Study at Shanghai Medical College” brand, contributing to the building of a global community of health for all, and enhancing the college’s capacity for internationalized medical education—thus providing clear direction for the college’s work under the initiative.

The conference also invited a representative from the Shanghai Municipal Foreign Affairs Office to deliver a special presentation on “Protocol and Etiquette in Foreign Affairs.” Furthermore, the Office of International Medical Cooperation and the Medical Finance Office introduced relevant support mechanisms.
