On July 19, 2021, the opening ceremony of the T2T program of Fudan University Shanghai Medical College and Harvard Medical School was held at the Harvard Center in Pudong, Shanghai, with a hybrid online/offline setup.
First, Mr. Yi Wang, executive director of Harvard Center, welcomed all those attendees. Dr. Ajay Singh, Senior Associate Dean for Postgraduate Medical Education at Harvard Medical School, and Prof. Wu Fan, Vice Dean of Shanghai Medical College, delivered the opening speech of T2T 2021. Both sides reviewed the project achievements of the past two years, expressed their gratitude to the participants and support departments, and expressed their hopes for the project and the trainees.
Afterward, Lai Yanni, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office of Fudan University, shared the administrative management experience and learning experience as the planning director of the Fudan team of the T2T project and the first batch of outstanding students of the project.
The T2T project was initiated in 2019 as a teacher training program for Fudan University-affiliated hospitals. The primary aim of this program was to develop highly skilled clinical educators who could apply educational theories and use best teaching practices to train medical students and physicians in training, thereby meeting future medical workforce needs. In 2021, a total of 47 backbone doctors from 13 affiliated hospitals of Fudan University participated in the project.
After the opening ceremony, the participants attended the first online course at the Shanghai Harvard Center.
